BOOK SPLASH!
2005 Chicago Public Library
Summer Reading Program:

Kevin Luthardt is the artist for the 2005 Chicago Public Library Summer Reading Program. His work will be featured on promotional posters, flyers, postcards, T-shirts, book logs, etc. all across the city of Chicago. Last year 45,000 kids were involved. This year, the CPL has partnered with the Shedd Aquarium, and the theme of the program is “Book Splash!” Kevin will also be appearing at 20 different library branches to promote the program and talk about his work (see Upcoming Events page).

VOYAGE TO BOOK ISLAND
2006 Illinois Library Association
Summer Reading Program

Kevin Luthardt has been chosen as the 2006 artist for the ILA statewide summer reading program. His work will be featured on posters and promotional products in libraries across the state of Illinois. Around 450 libraries and 250,000 kids will be involved. Kevin will be appearing and/or speaking at various venues over the next year promoting this program (see Upcoming Events page).






AIRPLANES ON PARADE
Kohl Children’s Museum

Kevin Luthardt is one of 16 artists selected by the Kohl Children’s Museum to paint a child-sized airplane to celebrate the Museum’s upcoming opening on The Glen (in Glenview, Illinois) and to recognize its history as the former Glenview Naval Air Base. KCM and its Board of Governors is overseeing the production of 16 child-size fiberglass planes (a la Chicago Cows), each to be painted as a representation of the Museum’s brand new exhibits. ROBERT’S SNOW: FOR CANCER’S CURE
Kevin Luthardt is one of 200 children’s book illustrators who are creating exclusive original pieces of art—decorated wooden snowflakes to be auctioned through eBay this fall. 100% of snowflakes sales will go to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/The Jimmy Fund.
